Kingfisher Airlines Launches 5 New Routes in Summer Schedule

First airline to launch flights connecting Aurangabad with Hyderabad


Mumbai, March 31, 2009—Kingfisher Airlines, India’s market-leading airline and the first and only 5-Star airline, rated by Skytrax, from India, today announced that it has commenced flights on five new domestic routes as part of its Summer 2009 schedule that began on March 29, 2009.


The five new routes launched by Kingfisher Airlines are:

  Mumbai – Vadodara

  Mumbai – Thiruvanantahpuram

  Hyderabad – Bhubhaneswar

  Hyderabad – Aurangabad
5

  Bangalore – Kozhikode


The Hyderabad-Aurangabad route is a virgin route and Kingfisher Airlines is the first airline to operate flights on this route.

Commenting on the launch of these new routes, Mr. Siva Ramachandran, Vice President-Global Sales, Kingfisher Airlines Limited said, “I am delighted to announce the launch of services on five new domestic routes as part of our new summer schedule for 2009. These new routes will cater to a mix of various segments like small and medium enterprises, corporate travellers, leisure flyers and pilgrim traffic. The addition of these new flights means that travellers from these cities will now be able to take advantage of the unparalleled network that Kingfisher Airlines offers”.

Mumbai-Vadodara
The flights on the Mumbai – Vadodara route are very conveniently timed and guests from Mumbai are assured practically a full working day in Vadodara and have the advantage of being able to return home on the same day. Guests from Vadodara on arrival into Mumbai will now be able to take advantage of conveniently timed connecting flights to destinations like Goa, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Mangalore, Solapur, Aurangabad and London.


Mumbai – Thiruvananthapuram
The flights on the Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram route are conveniently timed with flights departing from Mumbai in the afternoon. The flights on this route are expected to cater to tourist traffic, the corporate segment and families visiting home.


Hyderabad – Aurangabad
Kingfisher Airlines is the only airline to connect Aurangabad directly with South India with convenient onward connections to other important southern cities like Bangalore and Chennai. Guests travelling from Aurangabad will also now have better connectivity with international flights via Hyderabad airport. For guests arriving at Aurangabad, they will have excellent onward connectivity with destinations in north India-New Delhi and eastern India-Kolkata. This route will particularly appeal to pilgrims travelling from Hyderabad and other southern cities of India to the famous shrine at Shirdi as Aurangabad airport is 120kms away.

Kingfisher Airlines has also reinstated a flight which offers a late-night departure option from Mumbai to New Delhi. In the summer schedule, the flights on the Mumbai-Bhuj-Mumbai route will now be operated using aircraft that offer Kingfisher RED class of service.
